It Finally Happened: My First Solo Exhibition

So—last week, my first ever solo exhibition officially opened with a wernisaż (that’s the Polish word for the opening night of an art show 🥂), and it was such an amazing event and experience! I’m honestly so happy and proud of myself.

For the longest time, even though I was in regular contact with the lovely lady organizing everything on the venue’s side (seriously, she was the sweetest!), the whole thing still felt unreal. Like at any moment, someone would jump out and say it was all just a joke or a prank. Or I’d wake up from a beautiful dream, heartbroken and disappointed.

But no—it’s all real. The exhibition is real, and the opening night actually happened!
As proof, here’s a short write-up and some lovely photos from the event, shared by a local magazine. (They haven’t responded to my request to post the photos directly, so for now I’m embedding their full Facebook post 😅)

I was also so happy that several friends and family members were able to come—including my dear Kapitan, who’s also an artist and you can find her work HERE.

Ironically, this exhibition slightly derailed my original plan to focus on learning anatomy properly in the first quarter of the year. I needed to finish and tweak some older paintings for the show, so that took priority. Now that it’s over, though, I’ve been slowly returning to something like inner peace (or… as close to it as I ever get 😄), and I hope that means I’ll finally get back to practicing anatomy sketches again.

I even bought a new sketchbook just for this purpose! I’d love to do a little review of it soon—so if you’re curious about that and don’t want to miss it, you can sign up for email notifications using the tiny form in the sidebar. Don’t worry, I don’t send any spam—just updates when new posts go live 💌

Anyway, this has been a wild and wonderful start to the year! Now, with spring truly arriving, the sun is shining again and filling me with joy, hope, and… inspiration.

Stay tuned to see where it all leads next 🌱
